Chronological? Yes!
 

The home feed is the most important and most invested part of any social platform. Machine learning algorithms can not yet beat a simple non-manipulative chronological feed served as-is from the people your follow. Machine learning and AI are important for the functioning of a modern platform, but on Hobbmate it won’t taper with important things like the chronology of your home feed posts.

Why no ads?
 

Ads where they do not belong, only create distraction and clutter. Hence ruining the overall experience. We wanted to create a platform that we’d feel the same pleasure to use as any other user. The overall content creating and consuming on the platform without any ads is a blissful experience that’s something we all can agree upon. Also for the ads to be relevant, it would require info from your data like other traditional platforms, something we wanted to avoid altogether. That’s why Hobbmate don’t and won’t have any ads. Though, Influencer/Creator sponsoring would be allowed on the platform, and might also be facilitated by Hobbmate at times.

Is it free as well? Forever?

 

Yes. Hobbmate's core features are & will always be free to use. Though we might  introduce new paid services and features from time to time, they are likely to be only optional extras, but the basis of the platform will remain free as is.

How Hobbmate makes money then?

 

It’s important to note that Hobbmate is neither a non-profit nor an open-source platform as of now. How we make money then? Other than our Patreon supporters, Hobbmate doesn't make any direct money as of now.  In the near future, Hobbmate might make money from providing Freemium services or Extra products or services other than the Hobbmate platform, &/or providing direct Sponsoring or Membership features for influencers, none of which will ever compromise the safety or privacy of your data within Hobbmate. Hence, keeping the beauty and speciality of the platform intact while also fueling the development and innovation behind Hobbmate.

Ever since his childhood, Prateek was very passionate about art, design and automobiles, but seeing many of his peers having to ghost their passion because of societal or other pressures, while also lacking the presence of those they can share and talk about their passion with, bugged him a lot.
Prateek strongly believes that our passions are what makes our lives worthwhile and that everyone should get the opportunity to explore, talk about, share their true passion and eventually turn it into a career. From that point forward he made it his life’s stubborn mission to enable and empower more and more people to keep their passion alive and spend meaningful time on what they really care about the most.

That’s how Hobbmate came into existence, with the sole purpose of providing people with a platform where they can share their passion, interests, create fostering relationships with other passionate people, and live their passion to the fullest and eventually create and find career opportunities surrounding their passions and to this day we’re moving forward towards a future where more & more people are doing and sharing what they love.
